101. How Should I Name Two-Part Episodes? | Podcasting Episode Titles Tips and Strategies
FAQ Friday answering the podcasting question of "How Should I Name Two-Part Episodes?"

Welcome to Podcasting for Solopreneurs and FAQ Friday, where I answer a podcasting question in 5 minutes or less!
Today’s question is….How Should I Name Two-Part Episodes? | Podcasting Episode Titles Tips and Strategies. This question comes from Lisa, host of the Fit Life in Midlife podcast. Hey Lisa, thanks for listening!
Lisa elaborated by saying that if she has a long episode that she’s splitting into two parts, should she label them part one and part two with the same title, or should they each have their own unique title?
First, kudos to you for splitting up a long episode to make it easier for your listeners to consume!
The answer to this question really depends on the content that’s being split.
If someone can listen to part two without listening to part one, then I recommend giving each episode a unique title to highlight the specific content in each one.
I would also record a short separate intro to set up the second episode, saying something like “this is a continuation of the topic that started in episode XYZ. If you missed it, you might want to go back and listen to that” - and call then out a few benefits to listening to the first episode.
So, if part two can stand alone, you don’t need to label it as part two in the episode title, but it’s probably worth mentioning for context as you get into the content.
On the other hand, if a listener will be totally and utterly confused and lost if they tune into part two without hearing part one, then I recommend using the same title for both episodes and labeling them part one and part two at the beginning of the title. That makes it really obvious that the two episodes are a package deal.
